    Please take an English class.

You sold a pair of shoes to a buyer in Canada. You shipped the shoes to him, but now you say
the buyer has to pay $105 because of duties?? How much value did you declare on the shoes?
Even if that's not a typo, you are not inclined to pay his duties. He can decline acceptance of the merchandise
and it will be shipped back to you. Cancel the transaction and just refund his money after you get the shoes back.

Hi thanks for your help sorry for the bad english I should of read what I said. The value I put was $100.00 like I would put on everything else and this is the first that this had happen to me.

You did nothing wrong by stating the true value of the item.
In fact, you followed the postal guidelines /law.
I can't believe the tax/duties is 100%. We need some Canadian's in here
to brief us. Now I understand why Canadians always tell me to mark it as a "gift"
and value it under $10 when they buy my hockey cards to avoid the duties.

Explain to your buyer that you followed proper protocol with our postal system,
and it's his responsibility on his side regarding tax/duties that his country charges.
Don't yell or sound harsh in the email. Just tell him to kindly decline the package
and it will come back to you and that you will both cancel the transaction when you
receive the shoes back and refund him. Good luck.

The exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I sent a hockey stick with a value of $400 and there was $103 in duties due. Always check the "gift" box when shipping to Canada. Consider it a lesson learned.

Always put the true value (what the item sold for) and do not put it as a gift if you sold the item.

    That is correct.

While it is likely that no US Statute is violated by falsifying the form,
the buyer can experience a HUGE hassle if the Canadian Customs
guys want to mess with him.

gift doesn't matter, especially since there's no merchandise box to check, if you are going to get dinged this won't make a difference.

shoes (made outside US/Canada) have the highest duties levied than any other classification.

did you ship usps or fedex/ups? the courier companies charge enourmous what amounts to handling fee's (I've seen $75) in addition to collecting duty and provincial and federal sales tax.

tell the idiot not to import shoes if he doesn't like his countries import laws.

Yes, if you want to risk getting the buyer stuck with a HUGE
"handling fee" that is routinely - though not always - added
    onto the final delivery bill.

USPS EMI is the correct shipping method, at this time.

I understand you sold the shoes on ebay but how is this a question about ebay and not

    Canadian duties?

After you get the neg it will be a question about ebay.

Hopefully, any such prospective NEG will mention the "customs duties."

    EBAY will remove such NEGs.
