In DC? Now? Hurry to Mint HQ - 2010 Lincoln Cent Exchange is underway

The snow closed the gov't on the day of the 2010 Cent exchange.

I went into DC to see if I could get some proof sets, kennedy half dollars, the new Commems and some Fillmore $1s (no Denvers in the machine today! usually they are mixed mints)

I had no idea, but there was the cent exchange today.

Union Station is out, but if you rush to the Mint HQ, they had some at 2 when I left.
(only P mint cents)

They lay the smack down on the hoarders and despite efforts to be forgettable, they eventually recognized me. I did do some ripping. shame shame. (I get excited and carried away)



First, I'd rather trade 10 unsearched rolls for 10 unsearched rolls from Denver.

If trading doesn't work out, I will sell some for cost + shipping.

Man, they really need to open a branch on the West Coast
I'd love to get a couple rolls so I could do what I did last year....have my son hand some out to each kid in his class and talk about it.
He, and they, really enjoyed it, but I don't think we will be seeing any of the shields out here for a LONG time

nah.

I've been avoiding entering contests because I know I have no giveaways myself. GSAguys was an exception and I posted in his that he'd just get it back if I won. (the contest was too cool to pass up)


However, while this isn't a CC Morgan, it's at least sought after right now. So, I have been trying to think of a good contest (but it won't rival GSAguys).


We'll see what I can come up with. As with the sales at cost.. I'm trying to avoid selling or giving them to eBay flippers (not that there is anything wrong with it... but the idea is roll searchers). I think it will be either 2 or 4 unsearched rolls, and I'm leaning towards 4 right now.


(some kid (middle school age) was even outside with a carry-on with wheels taking turns going through with his dad. I didn't see how many they got but it had to be on the order of boxes.)

That's cool and, as I said in the PM, the 2009 reverses went over great with the kids (heard some of them said they are turning into "collectors" now ), and I am sure this will as well!
