Sad news, Found out we lost a Dealer last week..TCCS Update

Some of you may have done business with Gary Mugno from Island coins and I found out yesterday that he passed away last week. Gary was very passionate about nicely toned coins and he was also a founding member of the Toned Coin Collectors Society (TCCS). I also found out he was the admin for the site and he hosted it on his server which explains why we have been having issues over there for a few months with no resolution. Obviously Gary had more important things he was dealing with then keeping a website up and running. Gary truly was a great guy and I think anyone who ever purchased a coin from him considered him a friend. I know that some on this forum were very vocal about the coins he sold and his images but I hope we can put that aside like adults and just focus on the loss of an fair and honest dealer. For his friends and family, Gary will be missed but never forgotten.

The TCCS website is in a transition period while Ron Sirna finds a new host for the site in the next two or three weeks. Then we should be back up and running virus free and those that enjoy toned coins can get back to the business of toning education, show and tell, hobby protection, Q & A and whatever else the members would like to bring to the table. At that time we will also open up the new member sign up for the forum again so those folks who have been contacting me for months wanting to join will be able to finally do so.

very sad news on a snowy morning, ive known Gary since he was doin the old Holmdel nj show 7 or 8 yrs ago, he was a good dude and will be missed,

Shane, this is very bad news. Gary was a wonderful person and carried a tremendous inventory of beautifully toned coins. We made it out for dinner in Little Italy at the Baltimore Shows several times and I will truly miss him as a dealer and a friend.

I am sad to hear about Gary's passing.

He was a nice person and I enjoyed seeing him at the shows. He always had beautiful toned coins to view.

I will miss him and my condolences go out to his family.

Gary was a fun guy, and I enjoyed chatting with him the many times I saw him at shows. I hadn't seen him in a while, but didn't know anything was wrong. He'll be missed.

While at the FUN show last year - I wanted to meet Gary - but he wasn't there.
I just wanted to thank him for the beautiful 1896-P Quarter he sold me. Its still
one of my favorite coins.

I'm truly sorry to hear of his passing and my sincerest condolences go out to his family.

Very sad to learn this. I've bought and sold coins with Gary and he was truly a genuinely good guy.

Did Gary have a brother who was also a coin dealer? Just curious since I used to see a guy who could have been his twin at some of the shows.
