How to turn off annoying Ebay sorting feature?

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I could not find an answer to this question on the forums. Last time I went to search for PCGS coins on ebay, I noticed it is now sorting all the coins in a given category by date. I find this feature extremely annoying and wish to turn it off. It increases my search time by a factor of 10, because I only like to look at newly listed items. Now I have to click on every individual date to see what is newly listed. What really got me is that when I searched on "PCGS" in the Barber dime category, not only do I have to look at every individual coin by date, but it is not even filtering out the non-PCGS junk correctly. Anybody know how to turn off this annoying new feature?

All of my searches still offer the "search by" drop-down menu above the line on the right side of the screen. The EBay default is "best match" ... whatever that means. I go to the drop-down and select "newly listed".

I suspect some of your "non-PCGS" hits are the result of seller key-word spamming.

Are you not getting everything sorted by date? For example, I get sub-categories that say 1914 barber dime (168 items), 1903 barber dime (67 items)......an so on, so I have to click on each one to see what is listed.

Edited to add: I think something may be up with my browser. I am not getting any sorting with Internet Explorer- only Mozilla Firefox.

If it is not limiting the search to PCGS items only there is something wrong with your browswer. Or the sellers are key word spaming the listings.

As for getting rid of theat dumb Best Match go to search them click on Customise View, then to Advanced Options and select the sort you want. I use ending soonest myself.

I use the "Least lies" option, but it's tough to find on ebay's menu.

Easiest way Ive found is not using ebay at all, for anything.

Yes, the drop down "sort by" selection is the way to go. Once you have selected your sort and refreshed your screen to show the sort you can now save this search in your browser's "favorites" and it will load, with your change to the sort, every time you call it up. I have a number of regular searches saved in an "ebay searches" folder in my browsers links. Once you have your search criteria typed into the "find" window and has been sorted the way you want it just cut and paste the search's web address into your "links" "ebay searches" folder. In the future you can jump right to it with the push of a button.

Here's one I use regularly by just clicking on my "ebay searches" folder in the "links" window at the top of my browser. Drop down from that folder then lets me click on whatever search I want to do - up to date and already sorted. Makes hunting for the best deal very easy.

I have noticed a few complaints (justified IMO) about not being able to opt out of Ebay's "Best Match" sort order on searches. It can be done, maybe not as easily as it should be, as follows:

1) Do a search, then locate the "View as" dropdown box near the top of the item list.
2) There is a link to the right of the box labeled "Customize View". Click on it to bring up the Customize View box.
3) On the right side menu of the Customize box, find "Advanced Options". Click on it.
4) Now you can select the default sort order for your searches as well as a few other things.

I've had mine on "Ending soonest" for months now, ever since they instituted the disaster "Best Match" search algorithm...

This turned out to be some pernicious problem with my browser, not a problem with ebay. I think some kind of malicious toolbar installed itself into my browser, and it changed the way the ebay site displays. I will have to reinstall my browser to fix it.

I throw the following into the search box. It eliminates alot of stuff I don't care for.
pcgs -1938 -1939 -1940 -1941 -1943 -1944 -1945 -1950-D -1971 -1972 -1973 -1974 -1975 -1984 -1986 -1987 -1988 -1990 -1991 -1992 -1993 -1994 -1995 -1996 -1997 -1999 -2001 -2002 -2003 -2004 -2005 -2006 -2007 -2008 -cam -proof -dcam -sms -PR69DCAM -PR64 -PR65 -PR66 -PR67 -PR68 -PR69 -PR70
It could be more extensive but I'm just lazy.

So you just want the MSxx 1942 and a few others?

None of this really helped as my Ebay still sorts in clumps of dimes, nickels, pennies and quarters. I just want to see my 50 results as they come, not 15 types of results with results inside of the category.
