Crossovers
I have a bunch of NGC coins that I am considering sending to PCGS to grade. Does anyone have any extensive experience with crossovers?? What I am curious about is what kind of % you have experienced crossing at the same grade vs. a grade level down vs. more than 1 grade level down?? I have to indicate on the submission form if I am willing to accept a lower grade and indicate how low I am willing to go. How do you guys normally handle this?

There are some series that NGC may be tougher in, while in others, they may be lighter.
So, for the NGC coins in question, do YOU know the series and how to grade? Do YOU agree with the NGC grades? Have you seen similarly graded PCGS examples and how did you grade them compared to PCGS?
For me, with IHC/Lincolns, I am probably 75% on crossovers. 100% the first time and not quite that after. I disagree with a couple, but it is what it is.
I don't do bust halves, so I can't speak directly for them, just the crossover experience.
When I submit for crossovers, I do NOT crack out (then, they are not crossover, but are raw), but doing that, you take a chance on a "genuine" or lower grade.
For the coins I have, I put cross at same grade (or the implied "higher"). If you are comfortable with a step down, then you can do that. Some PCGS coins sell for more a full grade below NGC's grade. Again, it is up to YOU on how well you know the series/grades of the coins.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
