    Just to add, they were minted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore from 1990 to 2002. Coins have privy marks that follow the Chinese Almanac animals, and from 1996 serial numbers appear on the 1/2 oz coins, as well as latent images on the 1 oz coins...........

    Are these the "singold" series? I have a set of the dragons which are beautiful and can not argue with their presentation in 24k gold. Nice!

    yes they do look like the MGM Lion....

    but I do love them....really wonder why the Singapore Government didn't continue minting them past 2002..
