Anybody like Hawaiian commems? Post 'em if you got em.

Purchased at LB from Certified Assets. The coin has a few ticks, but I fell for the color on this one:

Nice looking Hawiian (original post) -- a lot of these typically have ugly toning, but not that one.

Claychaser's coin looks really nice! You don't see ones like that very often

Holedandcreative's example: I think the artist chose the correct side to emphasize when subtracting metal, and perhaps inadvertently emphasizing Capt. Cook's appearance after his unfortunate demise (morbid, I know...)

I would love one like any of the "whole coins" on this thread so far,
are they all that nice? I don't think so.

Clay and Eagle, those are both sweet. Mine's a doggie AU and I wouldn't show it if I had a pic.image

Wish i were more computer savvy..i have(to my knowlege) the
    only pcgs 67..and a prettystunning 66 as well..tough finds! i think
the 67 has a pic in my commem set..if i could somehow pull it into
the thread..the 66 is from the hidden liberty collection and its
deserving of a 67 holder says i...but it still sits in the 66 holder..
pcgs does not agree, but it sure is purdy. Love this issue.

Some really nice Hawaiians here, not the typical toning you see on most of them, which doesn't appeal to me. I don't have one.image

Cool thread..from pocket piece to upper grades!
Commems are a lot of fun..
Thanks so much Lee for getting my Hawaiians on the thread..
Im gonna have to learn how to do that..
When you look close at the 2 coins it sure is hard not
to like the 66 more than the 67..that 66 out of the
Hidden liberty set is very cool coin..I feel better about owning it
after seeing the pics side by side.

That's my favorite, when the outside color frames the inside color. MS 70 eye appeal!!

Along with Pinnacle Rarities, I was privileged to have participated in the sale of that coin, along with the rest of the Hidden Liberty collection. It is unquestionably the best looking Hawaiian half dollar I have seen. And it was easily one of my favorite coins from the collection. Hawaiian Half dollars just aren't supposed to be that beautiful.

Do your best to avoid circular arguments, as it will help you reason better, because better reasoning is often a result of avoiding circular arguments.
