almost all things 2001 Heritage are crazy-go-nuts, especially the chrome set. Nothing surprises me about that winning bid.

At $100 plus, they could take all 3 of them, I'm not THAT invested!

ah, didn't even pay attention to whether the auction had ended or not. Heck, if I were you, I'd wait a month or so after this auctions ends and put one of 'em up, rinse and repeat a month after that. I'd keep the last one - you might regret letting all three go.

I need to see if a third bidder gets involved. Right now, if it's only two, then my card probably won't sell for as much...

ETA: Maybe I could just put it up with a BIN for what it ends at.... Hmmmmmm....

FYI, Ben Sheets was one of the last 2001 Chromes I needed to finish up my set a couple of years ago. Not sure why, but his card doesn't appear on Ebay that often. Sasaki is another card that a lot of set builders seem to be missing. I agree with the rinse and repeat advice, I think I paid $80 for my Ben Sheets 2 years ago.

2001 Ben Sheets chromes are horded by a couple of people i know....one of them is a board member here. That is why they go for high $$. They will always set you back $80 or more, as many people still need them for their sets. Same goes for the 2002 daryl kile chrome.

Does anyone know why there is such a disparity in pricing between 2001 Topps Heritage Chrome and 2002? Looking at completed auction pricing, I'm baffled. One set had a print run of 552 and the other was 553. I guess that extra card makes all the difference.

Bob I have no idea, but Chrome in the 01 boxes is bascially an average of lees than one per box. Almost impossible! I havent ripped and 02 boxes but I know in recent years it was a few chromes per box.

I'm one of the people Jim (parkerj) refers to above who hoards these cards (not just Sheets, but 2001 Heritage chrome in general). I sold two Sheets' chromes last year for about $85 each, and, with this win, still have nine of these cards, not counting the one in my set. Since most of them cost me less than $20 several years ago, I think I'm still ahead. There's really no rhyme or reason to these 2001 Heritage chrome card prices; last week I bought a 2001 Heritage chrome Travis Baptiste for $9 and have bought several others in the past year for less than $10, including one for $.99.
Also, as pointed out, the 2002 chromes are much less expensive, as a group, than the 2001's, with one more card per player and ten fewer cards per set.

2002 chromes are underrated, and undervalued. they also fall less than one per box....just as scarce as the 01s but with more boxes being produced in 2002, they are harder to pull.
