Thoughts on this Bar Cent

I'm helping to go through an estate collection and ran across this. It was mounted in a plaque with duct tape adhering to it on the reverse. I think that residue could be removed by a professional if need be. I am fairly certain this is probably a repro, but I base that only because the estate was from an avid coin collector who would never mount a real cent like that. I just have no knowledge otherwise. The local dealer thought the same thing I did, but neither of us have ever handled something like this.

My questions: Fake? Should I send to NCS?

I'm certainly no expert on these, but the A is correct as it passes over the S. However, it looks a bit too bold. The restrikes (JA Bolen 1862) had the A pass under the S. On the reverse, I recall there being a diagnostic die chip on one of the bars that verifies its status as genuine. It might be worth being conserved to remove the tape residue to have a closer look.

Cheap souvenir copy that appears to have been glued to a plaque of some kind. A soak in acetone make remove all that glue on the reverse.

The biggest give away I can notice is that the top and bottom of the S is too wide. Here are a couple of genuine ones to compare it with:

No slab since it's not real so there couldn't be a sticker unless they stuck it on the coin. image
