College Baseball starts today!

Baseball is back! Hopefully "my" Bulls can make a solid run this season. We're picked to finish 2nd in the Big East, receiving votes in most polls, and it all starts tonight against Number 9 Florida! Hopefully we can at least take a game of the series image

I so much enjoy College baseball as compared to the major leagues.

My childhood home town team opens a home series against Virginia in less than an hour. Go Pirates!

My college team opens a home series against George Washington also in about an hour. Go Heels!

Get the hot dogs and nachos ready for a fun season.

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

This is one of the times I wished I still lived in Greenville--I'd surely spend the weekend at that series.

    Thanks for the link Goot!

p.s. I'm still a little upset about my home town team having their football coach "stolen" by the Bulls. image Maybe in a possible future, the Big East will expand and add the Pirates--then a real football rivalry can develop.

Sorry!! Holtz is a great guy though! He came into the student section for one of our basketball games and I had the opportunity to meet him. I think he's a tremendous upgrade over Leavitt (who I never really cared for) and will take the program to bigger and better things, for sure!!

Yeah, he was a good guy and good coach. I liked him.

Just hope the Pirates don't fall apart under the new coaching staff. I expect there will be some "growing pains" for a while. Best of luck to both teams (but more to the Pirates!)

    Some College Baseball trivia:

What team (currently NOT in the Top 10 USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll) has

    1. The most wins in the nation since start of 2006 season (207 wins)
    2. Four straight trips to the College World Series
    3. Two CWS Finals appearances (one of only three teams to get to the finals at least twice since 2003)
    4. Four straight years ranked in the final "Top 4"
    5. Since 2003 season, ranked in the Top 25 for 123 straight weekly rankings.

To be honest, not really, but the same can pretty much be said for football and basketball at the college level. However, Virginia and UC Irvine are the new kids on the block in baseball.
