PSA eTopps

Just received a submission back from PSA and my 2002 eTopps McGwire is in a pack slab rather than a regular card slab. These pack slabs are enormous (compared to a regular card slab). Is this the norm for PSA to put these eTopps cards in this kind of slab...(note, the card was taken out of the "tamper-proof" holder prior to sending to PSA)??

While I can't comment on personal ETopps experience.... I will say the larger slab is cool and all... but SUCKS to store with all of my other slabs.

At lease big Mac has an ETopps card! Mr. Sabo never did.... image

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

  • I've sent a lot of Etopps in--none in the past two years though. Never had one come back in a pack slab. Ddin't think they were that thick for a pack slab...
  • It is a regular slab that has been juiced =P

    Sorry couldn't resist.

Those are not the pack slabs... those are the new slabs for oversized memorabilia cards (maybe they use them for packs too, I don't know).

Ran into the same problem with them lately too. Going forward, any eTopps cards with the silver metal medallion in them will be slabbed in these holders. Trust me, I went through the hell of sending a 15 card lot back to them to be re-slabbed in the old-style holders... only to be told the slabbing guys weren't comfortable putting them in those. Under magnification, they claimed to see problems with the integrity of the card and it could get worse over time.

Basically, makes me wonder if all the previous 2001-2003 eTopps cards that have been slabbed 10's are really 10's anymore!?!?!?!

Personally, unless my card is 75pt or thicker memorabilia card... I don't want it in those gigantic holders, but with eTopps medallion-contained cards... that's the way it's gonna be now.

On the bright side... you got it back and they didn't hold your order because it wasn't subbed seperately as an over-sized card image
  • I just wanted to complain that the Steve Young eTopps card is so high (~$80). May the Upper Deck gods smack you eTopps collectors.....until I can get a Young for around $20.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
