Murphy's Law: I buy a low pop coin and the pop goes up the next week...

Last two low pop coins I've bought:

77-p ms67 Ike pop 13. It went up to 14 within a week of me buying it.
83-d ms66fs Jeff pop 11 that I bought last week. It just went up to 12!

Anyone know who got the new Jeff graded?

Less than 10% increases shouldn't hurt the values much.

At least it wasn't a pop 1 coin any increase is a 50% increase

You honestly cant even be suprised, they are modern coins, I wouldnt be at all suprised to see that population double within just a few years. If either of thsoe were a more popular series the pops would already be much much higher.

Perhaps the two you got were just graded and those represent the number increase.

I understand the Top Pop/Registry phenomenon; however, this is precisely why I am hesitant to purchase modern coins in ultra high grades/designations. It only takes one federal reserve box, and the price plummets. I sincerely hope that the price doesn't decline too much; I don't imagine that it will. Good luck.

P.S. I'm willing to bet the the IKE population will remain more stable than the Jefferson nickels due to the enormous size/weight of the Eisenhower Dollar.

Any increase would be 100% for pop 2, 200% for pop 3, 300% for pop 4... and so on.
