The way they deter fraud is by using a philips head screwdriver. Most people who would tamper with a card uses a flathead. There is no way to penetrate that fortress of security.
It had to be graded a 9 in order to keep with the theme "09-09-09". There will be another one up for auction next year that will be a 10, but it will be graded on "10-10-10". Oh, is that for various scores? I thought it was for the date... I think on some of their other ones they have the protective hex screw that is requiring an allen wrench.
I bought a couple MAP graded cards several years ago, during the era of 10,000 grading companies. On the reverse, they fill the screw holes with a resin or some such thing, to provide the ultimate in tamperproof protection.
I'm going for the #1 89 Fleer registry set on the Map Grading site.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo. ~WalterSobchak

Ahhh...resin, the ultimate "kryptonite" for tamepers.
I did a search for MAP grading and ended up at the GMA Grading site. After reading this blazing editorial I am convinced that GMA might even be better than MAP. Two thumbs up for misspelled words and long sentences!!!
