What is the best way to sell my junk wax?

I am interested in selling off a large portion of my unopened junk wax collection. I have over 100 boxes that I would like to sell. I was wondering what listing method would generally net the highest return? I have listed a few individual boxes on eBay and the results were poor. I was possibly thinking about listing lots of multiple wax boxes to save on the shipping costs. I would appreciate some suggestions on how I can sell my collection without taking a huge loss.

What about setting up at a local show? Without shipping costs (killer for junk wax purchasers since it can be more than the cost of the wax) you might be able to get the money you are looking for...just a thought. You could even entertain trades for what you do want.

  • Put up a list of the junk, some guys might be looking for it.

This might be the same stuff he's had on the BST for a while now.

I have no ideas, but the card show idea may be the best one.

I remember another board member that offered some kind of "rip special" on BST where he offered multiple packs by sport - say 6 each of 87 topps, 89 Donruss, 90 UD ,etc. so each sale was about 36-50 packs. Gives buyers a variety.

I have had it on the BST board for over a month. My prices were less than BBCE and below the average sales price on eBay. I think I sold 9 boxes to two different guys. This is not a realistic approach to selling the majority of it. A small local card show isn't a bad idea.

I think that you would do well with a group rip. Try a small one first and see how it goes.

  • Hey,

Link to the list of what you have for sale. I buy junk wax pretty much all week, provided the price is right.

Do you fit multiple boxes into flate-rate shipping boxes?

    Let me know,

    Thanks!

  • I was at a card show where there was a big table of wax and a lot of it was $10 or 3/$25 and it was moving fairly well and had stuff that you have in your post. Some papers also let you get a free want ad so that may be another option besides Craigslist.
