  • Got my 1963 Clemente from Memory Lane the other day. Paid a premium but I liked this card.

  • That is a great looking 63 Clemente. Cards that nice are worth a premium.

Warren, excellent looking Clemente. That's the next one on my add list. Well done.

    great 63

I have noticed lately that high end cards r going well over vcp.
If ur not willing to pay a premium on popular cards then u r not getting it.

    very nice

  • Just picked up my first Clemente in quite some time. I don't have it in hand yet.
Looks like the corners might be a little weak for an 8- but centering and image are more important to me than corners are, and I had yet to see a '66 that made me happy in those areas. I think I'm going to be happy.

Another very nice Clemente! I remember that 66 being a pain the rear to find centered and without tilt. I'de give up corners for centering and no tilt as well.
  • Great 66 Clemente it is hard to find one centered like that.

The image on the 66 is outstanding.
  • I just got this 59 Clemente

    Nice '59.

I just upgraded my '60 from a PSA 6 to a PSA 7.5. I'll post a scan one of these days when I get my scanner up and running. That being said, if anyone needs a '60, I have a PSA 6 available.
  • I just got these Clemente's back from PSA.

  • I just purchased this from MBMiller25 - thanks Matt.

  • That 64 Clemente is awesome one of my favorite years. It looks nicer than an 8 well done.
  • Thanks. The scan makes it look like the color is just a little bit washed out- but when I got the card in hand I was very happy to find that's not the case at all. There are very few cards in my collection nicer than this one.

  • I just got this Clemente Rookie. This card looks better than any 4.5 I have seen.
It looks better than most 5's.

  • I agree that it looks nicer than most 5's. I don't see a whole lot wrong with that card.

    Very nice pickup!

  • Awesome! Congrats on completing your set
  • This showed up in the mail today. It had been quite a while since I added a new Bob, and it'll probably be quite a while before I add another one. But as soon as I saw this one I knew I had to have it.
And it just so happened that the first time I saw it was on quad bucks day, which pretty much sealed the deal. image

  • Thanks Matt! I'm still very slowly plugging away at it. Someday I'll plunk down what a crappy used car would cost and snag a nice, centered '55.

You still have that '63F that I bought from you, then later traded back to you? image

Now that I am giving these a fresh look, I might have to upgrade a few. I'm still looking for a nicely centered '65 PSA 8 at a good price.
  • I'm from the Pittsburgh area and I'm starting this set.

I just upgraded my '72 to a PSA 9, so I'll be selling my PSA 8 if anyone is interested.

Thank you. I've decided to upgrade some of my Clementes... The goal being to have all of them (except his rookie) in PSA 7 or better.
  • DanBessetteDanBessette Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭
    If I were you, I wouldn't upgrade that 65. What a beauty!

I've been looking for a PSA 8 forever... Even if I get one, I'm going to keep the 6.5.

    Here's my new 1972 Clemente in a PSA 9.

    image

Still looking to possibly upgrading my '59 and '62.
  • Well, I never thought I'd win this lot... but I did. Looks like I only have to buy his RC now (and maybe do a little upgrading).

I already have a handful, so I'll have some dups.

Great card! Centered so much better than your 7. Your Clemente basic set is one of my very favorite player registries I've seen on the CU boards. Thanks for sharing!

That is a really beautiful example of the '61 card.
  • pdub1819pdub1819 Posts: 1,987 ✭✭✭✭
Thank you both for your kind words. I think at this point, I'm going to try to get my overall PSA grades to average between a 7.5 and 8. It's going to be hard, because some of his cards are quite expensive in PSA 8.

Nonetheless, here is my latest upgrade. Very happy with this one and I was able to take advantage a 4x eBay bucks offer to get it.

Sweet cards gentleman. I would love to continue to see more of the Great One's cards. Today he would have been 81. Happy Birthday Roberto! I know this is not a part of the registry, but since it's his birthday I would like to share.

Paul.... nice to see that you're upgraded this awesome set.

    Bobby,
That auto is awesome!!! One day.... In the distant future... I'm going to get a nice Clemente auto.
How do you plan on disaying the item?

Any Clemente collectors have a 64 bazooka panel or a full 71 bazooka box for sale ?
I know there is one of each on eBay... I need good borders on the 64 panel and the 71 box is way ,way overpriced
    Thanks. Scott

Paul... That's a sweet Fleer Clemente. I'm thinking about starting the set again.

I would love to see more people post their Clemente's . Go Bucs!!!
