Finished my Everyman Peace Dollar Set

It was interesting and fun. Pretty challenging to find AU58's in some of the tougher years. One thing I really like about the Everyman sets is the Sliders. Sometimes some honest wear, sometimes nothing more than slight friction. Great coins with typically reduced cost. I must admit while others are hot on the trail and will get there, I do like being first to the top. Good times building the sets.

Way Cool..All 58's! That must have been tough to find all of them in 58.

Why is it that the coins in this set look better, as far as marks and hits, than coins grading 63 or 64 or even 65?

    This set is premo!image

I am much appreciative of the kind comments. It was tough. Yes, the 58's are an opinion or slight rub away from a 63 or higher. My goal is to keep looking and updating when I come across a superior 58. Thanks.

Congrates I'm still looking for some more to complete it.
Then will have to upgrade some of the lower ones I've put in for now.
It is a fun set like you said.

I just got the key in EX40 today.

Great work on finding all 58's and the pictures tell the rest of the story. Are you going to pedigree them?

Great compliment. Do not get me wrong, but I never considered it. I always thought of the Pedigree as super top tier sets. I do not know if a Everyman set would even qualify for consideration. As I am thinking about it, I probably will at least ask the registry people if Everyman sets are eligible for consideration.

I have always enjoyed circulated coins, I am sure that there are and will be some Everyman sets in the future that would stand with some of the best sets.

I will post what their reply is when I receive it.

Now, buy a nice album, crack them out, fill in the album, and sell the set as "CHOICE BU!!!!" image

Here is the email response I received asking about Pedigree for Everyman sets:

    "Hi,

I’m sorry, we do not pedigree Everyman Collections.

That is a little disappointing. I really don't know if this set would of qualified, but it would of been nice to try. I understand it. I imagine because 58 is the top and there will be many sets over the course of time in many categories to reach 58, it would seem to lessen the pedrigree label to allow it. I am still a fan of the circ sets, but maybe rainbowroosie has a point...image

  • Way to go. I've finished sets before too, and it doesn't matter if it's registry stuff like yours or a tri-fold raw coin board, the best feeling for me is of learning and accomplishment! Kudos.
