Daytona 500 a Joke

Seriously, over 6 hours due to the track falling apart? What a embarassment for the sport. Took away any momentum and joy watching this thing. It was more like Indy a couple years ago or the All Star Race.

They need to end the season with Daytona and move into the new century.

Very disappointing to see NASCAR get to this point. It's their biggest race of the year with so much history and it appeared to be thrown together. I expected a larger pre-race show and more emphasis on the history. Shame on FOX for incorporating so many movie promos as well. I am surprised Waltrip would be so corporate. Was there even a single mention of Earnhardt during the telecast?

If you want to put NASCAR on the level of MLB or the NFL you can't have what happened yesterday. Period.

and that is only cause they are so bad cart parts are literally scattered all over the highway!

I agee about the stupid promos that are now working their way into the actual telecast instead of being a commercial or side bar.

The olympics is also including them into their regular cast as well.

Pretty soon we will be seeing NASCAR announcers with adds all over their suits just like the drivers. Theywill have to thank their sponsers before telling you who is in the lead and have product placement all over their news desk.

The race was BOORING, if your there getting hammered or looking at hot women I doubt you notice much but the TV audience I bet wasn't too thrilled.

Maybe they could wear the cute little white/red firesuits like the reporters covering the pits do. They even have their name sewn on it like a driver.
