1795 Silver Appearance

I know this thread is more difficult without pictures - but the coin is someone else's inventory. I saw a 1795 Flowing $1 in F12 raw today. No major problems (hairlines, scratches, rim bruises, repairs) but the coin was DARK. The dark tone was even throughout and can be described as a graphite color. Under an incandescent lamp and 10x loupe, the appearance still looked like dark graphite. I am mentioning this because some dark coins under a light source and loupe are actually a dark brown.
What is the market acceptability of a coin like this? What does darkness mean? Extremely original or improperly stored or cleaned? In hand, I found the coin pleasing but I'm wondering about the darkness.

You said you found the coin pleasing but you are obviously worried about the dark tone. This seems to me like you are trying to talk yourself into liking the coin. I think it will continue to bother you if you buy it and you will regret the purchase.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
