    << <i>Crazylegs,

Who is on the soccer ball?

Great show by all. I'm trying to get mine "tightened up" this weekend. >>

EA - Mia is on the soccer ball. My daughyers addition to the room.
She is also a jr. redsinette so I have an autographed Redskinette poster too.

  • This thread needed revived.
  • Here are some pics again. I always change the basement around with different sets, autographed items. Can't remember how many times i've patched up the drywall. And no the colour is not Pink on the walls !! LOL You have to give a little to recieve a little and wife got to pick the colour for the backroom.
Hopefully i do these pics right and they load properly.
    Hope you like them.
    Cheers, Steve

    Good for you.
  • Do you really think a pool table and air hockey table within a few feet of those slabs is a good idea?

That is a great man cave! Don't you worry about someone swiping one of your cards off that wall?
  • Have never had a problem with the pool table or the air hockey table. No broken holders as of today. The one wall is changed now. I wanted to put some of my autographed hockey on the wall so i needed to make space for them. The basketball is retired and sold off. My 1970 set had a 8.90 GPA and the 1976 set had a 9.48 GPA. Was getting hard to collect every sport so now i concentrate more on my hockey. Older baseball as well but i don't really run into much ungraded. Most of my sets are ungraded anyways. I picked some of my favorite cheaper sets to build graded. I love the grading aspect but cards that i get graded are usually doubles. I keep the better copy ungraded.
As for cards missing. Even with the parties i have i have never had any cards go missing. I do have 2 alarm systems mind you. The first the builder installed and i put a second one in with the help of my friend with camera's that record. Honestly it maybe a overkill but you never know. I always hated putting cards in a box. The whole point is to be able to see them. That's why i did what i did to my walls. Mind you i don't put no Bobby Orr rookies on the wall but when people come over i have no problem showing them to them.
Well keep the picks going guys !! Time for a drink !!

Awesome thread!! Love all the pictures everyone posted. Just goes to show you, all this "stuff" isn't rally worth much unless YOU CAN SEE IT!!! Is anyone else worried about sun / light damaging your cards that are out on display??? Anything to do about that?
I have twelve Sports Cards videos on youtube w/ over 75,000 views in total!! Vintage cards like 1951 Mantle, 33 Goudey Ruth, T206 Cobb, etc (copy and paste link below):

    - I would encourage all collectors to post a video of their collection - I have found it to be a very rewarding way to share my sports cards!!

I always wondered what it would look like to us my slabs as wallpaper, NICE setup! What did you use for the tracks? I can't quite tell by the pics. In order to replace the card, do you have to slide them all out at the end of the row, or can you lift them up and out? Inspiring me to start a fall project... image

That's OK Steve - I found your pics very entertaining.

Cool bar - great display of your cards in the background - I'd rather seem there than hidden away. I wish I had wall space.

    Thanx for sharing.

  • For my set up i found 8 foot strips at home depot. First i used 7/16 x 7/16 x 8 feet long wood and drilled and countersunk for hole were studs were. Then using a PSA slab i made sure there was a little play. Then i got 1/8 x 1 inch x 8 feet long chrome pieces and drilled and countersunk for #6 screws. You leave a little lip for where the bottom of the PSA slab would be sitting. This is so the PSA slab cannot fall off. When you do this the remainder of the 1 inch chrome becomes the top of the PSA slab. This way you just lift the card and you pulle the bottom out towards you so you can exchange cards if you ever upgrade. Hopefully i'm explaining this right to make sence. If you do not want to use chrome you could always use wood strips and stain them if you like. I went chrome because my drop ceiling has chrome tracking.
