I understand they're also buying huge farms in south america and africa. We're not talking hobby farms, either. Ten-thousand acre spreads.

No free health care in China (or other social entitlement programs). The wife, who is a PRC citizen, had to pay cash for cancer treatment there (her work then paid her a portion of the cost). The US, in many ways, is far more socialist than China. So much for the promise of share and share alike with Communism.

China's government understands how bad off the Dollar and other currencies are. They now see that there is no way we can pay off our present debt, the new debt that will have to be added or added because of new programs our government adds, and the future liabilities (social security, medicare, etc.) that is facing our country. They are purchasing PMs, (also encouraging their own people to purchase PMs), other hard assets, and strategic metals because they may have a better picture of what may happen (better than the average American).

I believe China knows that if the Dollar crashes or we default, it will be bad times for everyone around the world including China. They may be focusing on the end game - who can pick up the pieces better after a world economic crash. As I have noted in past posts, if we are not careful and continue our spending ways instead of slashing programs to reduce debt, China will end up on top without ever having to fire a shot.

Whatever your politics, we as Americans need to wake up.

Nice to have cash. Nothing better than having good health, a good Family and a big fat wad of denero, enough to NOT work and live well for the rest of your life. Trust me, there's nothing like it and it's something that should be taught.

Yep, probably better to position yourself for a post crash scenario then to stick with the current model and hope that you aren't a victim.

  • mrearlygold, I have tried to teach it but it falls on deaf ears.

So if the worlds paper money is toilet paper, whats the answer. Thats rhetorical.

Land, home (paid for), a good stach of PM's, and a way to protect it.
