OC top-to-bottom or left-to-right?

I was looking through a lot of cards that were from a set that is notorious for OC cards (in all directions). I ended up getting one that was good left-right but it was a little OC top-bottom.

I think this card looked better than the ones that had good top-bottom centering but were a little off left-right.

What are others opinions of centering?

  • Top to bottom centering dosen't bother me as much as left to right. IMO it doesn't take away the eye appeal as much.

  • I agree I can deal with more of a T/B OC then L/R OC.... Eye appeal is everything.

T/B - if the bottom has more of the border.

Generally, I prefer that the OC be T/B with more of the border on the bottom. The exception would be 1975 T baseball where I think the OC card looks better with more of the border on top. And in fact, for that year, I actually think the worst looking OC cards are the ones having a sliver of border on the top.

With horizontal cards (1955 topps) the T/B OC IMO looks nicer if the bottom is light and the to

is heavy. Side OC is generally an eye sore.

    Good for you.

Same here, I've seen cards that I think look even better with a slightly thicker bottom border.
