You can insult me, fine, but to insult the greatest catcher who ever put on a chest protector? Now, that is blasphemy, son. Just ask SteveK what happened to the last guy who dared to take a shot at Jerry!

Also, that career avg was .252, buddy boy...image

Would've been funnier if you said 53 which is the correct amount of players on the roster

I can't be angry at a fellow Mets fan...we ahve enough to suffer about as it is, LOL..

I vaguely remember when Stearns tackled somebody/something on the warning track during a game...he was a tough SOB..

  • Doesn't seem geographically possible to be Cowboys and Mets fan.

And oh yeah, there's worse out there than the Mets in Baseball. At least you have 1969 and 1986 to remember.
  • Stearns actually had 25 stolen bases one year, not bad for a catcher

BB, as a little kid growing up in the mid 70's our family was always big Mets fans , even grandma lol. My older brother grew up a Cowboys fan and i guess i just followed in his footsteps. I guess when your young you don't know about the whole geographical thing. Plus im thinking that Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader poster my brother had hanging up on his wall had something to do about it too

Are you about 38-42 years of age? When I was growing up (I'm 40), there were a lot of kids who were either Steeler or Cowboy fans, as both teams were extremely successful at that time. I had a "one for the thumb" t-shirt myself, though I preferred to suffer along as a Jet fan despite all the Super Bowls.

  • I just turned 40 a little over a month ago . Yea i would have to agree with you as i can recall a bunch of both Steeler and Cowboy fans growing up around that time. My brother is 10 years older than me so im guessing he became a fan somewhere in the early 70's and i suppose i just followed him.

Pic of me and my brother on the field at Texas Stadium last year . Im the dork on the left
