Selling a master player collection????????

Hi all,
I wanted to get some input on selling my collection. I am looking to sell my Johnny Bench master set. I am currently third on the all time list. My collecting goals have really changed over the last year and am looking for some advice. I would really like to sell this set as a whole and was thinking of an asking price of around a thousand dollars. I have over a hundred cards and that averages out to less than $10 dollars a card. I don't have the best set but have some hard to find cards. So my questions are 1. do you think I could sell this set at this price as a whole, or 2 would you just break it up and sell on ebay and let it fly.
I would like to offer it to board members first to save on ebay fees, but do you think anybody would be willing to pay that price for a players master set?
Thank you in advance for your help.

It would only cost you a couple of bucks to find out- just list it on Ebay with a link to your set in the description. If you don't get a grand for it you can try to break it up.
Guy,
Thanks for the response. I was kind of thinking the same thing. With your knowledge what would you think I should sell it as a whole for?

Thank you very much for the link.
I really need to learn how to post a link.

I would put in on Ebay for $1200 BIN (no best offer), and let it sit for a month. If nobody jumped on it I'd drop it to $1000 BIN/BO and wait for $700 (although it might take a while). The problem with listing individually is that you have some cards in there that would sell for between $1 and $5, and those are the cards that get devoured (on a percentage basis) by Ebay and Paypal fees. So, if you're not in a rush to sell, list it and wait for the right price.
Best of luck on the sale- I hope it moves quickly!
