do you guys remove the protective covering on a topps finest refractor before sending it in to be graded?

    Trying to climb the 1954-55 Topps Hockey ladder for the second time.

  • Seems like a matter of preference to me. The completed listings on ebay pointed towards the ones with coating selling for more.

    Case in point a 1997-1998 Kobe Bryant with coating sold for $140 and without did not sell at $99.99.


    I personally would not buy the card with coating as I think it detracts from the appearance of the card.
  • If the coating is damaged (scratched, wrinkled) remove it before grading.

    I like the coating, if it's perfect.

    Otherwise, I like no coating.
