I finally saw one of the greatest fb games of all time on NFL Classics!

Opening day 1994 when a gimpy Marino played his first game since blowing out his achilles heel in week 5 of the 1993 season. I have to admit that I had tears in my eyes watching old #13 jog out of the tunnell onto the field...it's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since he last suited up for the Dolphins.

For those who aren't familiar with the game, Marino (who many people thought was washed up and should retire) outduled Bledsoe to win 39 to 35. Marino was 23 for 42 for 473 yards with 5 TDs and 1 Int. One of the greatest plays I've ever seen occured with 3 mintues left in the game. Miami was down 35 to 32 and Marino drove the team to the NE 35 yard line. On 4th and 10, most teams would call a 10 to 12 yard pass to get the first down. Instead Marino dropped back and without hesitation threw a 35 yard stike to Irving Fryar who scorched the New England CB down the right sideline for the touchdown.

I've seen clips of that play before, but never the entire game. I've saved the game on my DVR and can't bring myself to erase it...I may have to watch it again during the off-season for a football fix.

I just wanted to share...

Sounds like a cool game. It was while I was in college so no wonder I don't remember it! I always liked Marino. Had a Marino jersey and a Curt Warner (the RB, not the QB) jersey in junior high. Not sure why I liked those guys since I grew up in KC, but those were my favorite players.

I was at that game here in Cleveland in 1993 when Marino got hurt. I was in the dog pound, did not see the actual play but felt bad when he did not come back in the game and I found out he was injured. I am a browns fan but enjoy watching a legend on the field no matter who he plays for.
