met board member ssdawg77 (Stoney) today

Stoney bought a few sets I had for sale from the set lot I just bought and drove out to my area to pick them up earlier today. He's an extremely nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. We talked for a while about our collecting habits. We pretty much share the same thoughts about the hobby in general except he deals in more of the modern stuff than I do. The only reason I don't is because I know I'd get hooked for several cases of each of the new product if I ever started.

Anyway, If anyone hasn't dealt with him in the past, I highly recomend it. Now if I can only convince my wife to let me hitch a ride with him to the National, lol.

it's nice to hear about some good board member vibes. image

similarly, i am also trying to convince my wife to allow me a trip to the National, but there are only so many dresses, purses and shoes which can compensate. image

yeah, with the couple of golf and casino trips I take each year fitting one more in is tough, although I'd love to go. If my wife had any interest at all in cards then I might could sell it as a "family" thing. She just nods when I get all excited and tell her something about vintage cards or lots I've bought when I know good and well its just going in one ear and out the other.

By the way, your set shipped this morning UPS. PM me if you want the tracking info, and thanks again.

lol, not many I bet. Although I hope there are a lot of people that were card collectors when they were young and still have them sitting in pristine condition in their basements or attics and want to get rid of them when I get my pawn business going, lol.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It was a pleasure meeting Tommy as well and all the others I have spoken with and traded with the last couple years.

I've tried to work out a few trades with him but he always just gives the cards to me. What a jerk.

500 posts past 10k and you still haven't chosen a title?

Didn't we give you enough ideas?

Glad to hear this about Stoney.

I just ironed out a minor deal with him via PM and he was a pleasure to deal with.
  • He actually sold me a card for cheap since I posted my first comment.
