PoppaJ's 3000th Post Contest with Prizes!

First of all, God bless all of you and your families!

Secondly, after all the scuttlebutt going on lately, I was tempted to make this 3,000th post my last.

But, knowing I would miss the "good" that this board demonstrates most of the time, I decided to hang on a little while longer.

Here's my contest:

1) Which Mickey Mantle card was the last one that I added to my PSA Registry set?
2) What year did I meet Mickey Mantle for the first time?
3) In 1989, Pete Rose was writing a thank you note to a place that began with the letter "K" where he spoke about hitting. He asked me how to spell it. What was the word? .... be sure to spell it correctly!
4) Who was the last HOF baseball player that I had dinner with? (Hint: it was at his restaurant)
5) How many "i"s are there in my last name?

Rules:

1) One guess per question per person.
2) In case of a tie, earliest guess wins.
3) I have pre-assigned each of the 5 prizes to random questions in order to keep the guessing alive.
4) The contest will end once all questions have been successfully answered. If all 5 questions haven't been answered in a reasonable amount of hours or days, I will start throwing a few clues out there to expedite the contest.

As a bonus:

Please let me know why you or whoever you nominate (in case you're not a Mantle fan), should own a PSA/DNA Autographed Mickey Mantle card? Just sayin' image

The 5 prizes are:

1964 Auravision Mickey Mantle Record

Stan Musial & Biggies Restaurant Glass

1993 Fleer Ultra Performers 10 card Set with Embossed Snapcase
image

1994 Metallic Impressions Babe Ruth Special Edition 5-Card Set
image

10"x12" Coca Cola 16th Anniversary Olympic Winter Games LE Collector's Series Pin Set

Good luck everyone,
PoppaJ

p.s. I have learned that regardless of who we are, where we're from, or whatever our differences of opinions may be, at the end of each day, we're ALL good people.

Poppa ... Thanks so much for the great contest. You BETTA stick around! FUGGHEDABOUDIT!

    1) Which Mickey Mantle card was the last one that I added to my PSA Registry set? 1953 Bowman
    2) What year did I meet Mickey Mantle for the first time? 1967
    3) In 1989, Pete Rose was writing a thank you note to a place that began with the letter "K" where he spoke about hitting. He asked me how to spell it. What was the word? .... be sure to spell it correctly! Kalamazoo
    4) Who was the last HOF baseball player that I had dinner with? (Hint: it was at his restaurant) Tommy Lasorda
    5) How many "i"s are there in my last name? That's easy ... none ... isn't it spelled "J"? LOL

THE MICK was my idol growing up. I was able to keep a '67 and '68 card of his, but the rest I had to sell (no need to repeat why ... sig line says it all). An auto card of my idol would now be the cornerstone of my collection. Stay Healthy!
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    Hey PoppaJ,

Congrats on your 3000th post. I've enjoyed a lot of your posts as well as the demeanor that you display on the board. I still believe that one of these days eventually, you and I are going to do business over a 52 Topps Mantle!

I'll let others guess at your 5 questions, and while I would love to add a Mantle PSA/DNA autographed card to my collection, and could give you bunches of reasons why, I do have one already, so I'm not going to try for that one either. Perhaps I'll come up with someone to nominate later and chime back in.

    Keep posting for 30,000 more!

    Mike

Edited to add: Poppa, I'd like to nominate Dboneesq to get the PSA/DNA Mantle. He watched his little girl go through cancer and in my opinion, he's deserving!

    3)Kalispell
    4)Al Kaline

Bonus: I should own a Mantle autograph because while I own several Mantles and have owned pretty much every one of them at one time or another, I have NEVER owned a Genuine Mantle Autographed card.

I nominate myself for the Mantle auto because it would go great with my new favorite picture of a very young Mantle at the draft board with a few other guys (including my grandfather).

I would nominate my two sons, Jayce & Luke for the PSA/DNA Mantle Card. They are 6 and 4 years old and will never gt the chance to get the autograph of a player that was purely as good as Mantle!

I should own the PSA DNA Mickey Mantle card, as Mantle was the first Hall of Fame member I ever met and The Mick was the last sport book I completely reed. I also once scored a chick telling her Mick's Billy Martin shot a cow story.

    4. Shula's Steakhouse, OK he was a football coach, but they do make a mean steak
