If you have a 2004 Topps Traded Set, would you look at card T66?

If any of you have a 2004 Topps Traded Set, would you mind looking at the back of card number T66 Terry Francona. I just bought this set off of Ebay (I only need 2002 Topps Traded to have them all Topps Sets down to 1975). Anyway, I was looking through the set this evening to make sure it was complete and I noticed that right above "T66" it looks like "Refractor" was printed about 10 times side by side where it looks really jumbled. This is a base card and not a refractor. I thought this was really weird. Hopefully, I have a very, very rare error card and it's worth hundreds of dollars ! image

I could not find any info on the internet or in the SCD Catalog. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a scan of what I'm talking about.

Very interesting. Maybe the error experts will chime in.

I have got confirmation that there is indeed an error and a correction. One board member has one without the error, and another board member has one exactly like mine. Hopefully they will scan and post.

Kinda' strange to have a corrected error in a Traded set isn't it?
Don't they have smaller print runs?

yeah that's my bad, mine indeed does have the print defect. A bunch of mine are out of order since taking them out of sheets and I must have looked at #86 since it was next to #67 in my set.

They probably all do then. I would love to have more people chime in.

  • Yeah, mine looks exactly like the image frankhardy posted.
I collect the elements on the periodic table, and some coins. I have a complete Roosevelt set, and am putting together a set of coins from 1880.

Just got a reply in a PM from ssdawg77 and his does not have the stamping above the number. I have asked if he will post a scan. Hopefully he will.
