I'm in right now, didn't have any problems...
  • Awfully slow and then error messages, I hope it's not going to continue.

I can log in but that's it. They are having software trouble as it relates to current bid's. Not a good thing for them right now.

Looks like they are on lot 40 or so. I got the java loading screen, then the thing came right up. Tons of halfpennies at this point in time...

No luck here as well. Seems very slow to respond, then either error messages or nothing happens.

  • It seems to be stalled on the first lot.

They are going to save me some money.image
  • I was able to get some bids in but I can't follow what is going on or bid in real time, shoot, I planned my whole day for this, wwwaaahhhhh

I had to download Firefox and now I'm okay.

The "watch live" is a joke.
I finally had to get in on bidder side
Great coins - two bit internet - if they want to be big time got to do better here
  • Even after I downloaded Firefox it still didn't work right. I haven't had any problems bidding in real time on line with them before, but this was a mess.
  • I heard from a friend earlier this evening... he had a coin up in that auction... and he is not a happy camper... it appears that no one online could bid all day today... and many coins "fell thru the cracks" ... going for bargain prices... not good, to say the least...
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

I learned in previous auctions, especially the recent Naftzger sale, to not rely on the online bidding system at all. I missed out on a couple of great Large Cents because the online bidding system didn't function properly. Even though I would have paid more than the person who ultimately won, it's possible that person would have paid much more too, so I don't get too upset image Unfortunately, you need to put you max bid in ahead of time or go to the live auctions.

I couldn't watch the auction today so I put in a bunch of max bids on the Goldberg site. I went to the site just now and there is no way to find out went my lots when for ( as usual). According to the hammer prices on icollect i should have won quite a few lots. However, with the Goldberg auctions you never know if you won or even if your bids got excuted until you get an invoice. Looks like I won 3 large cents tonight, including an accidental bid click(!) on an 1805 eample. Looks like it will get a new home. image

Meanwhile, I think this is a super nice example I picked up, maybe overpaid, but it seems to be a looker.

    More Goldberg Auction software issues:

The commems are scheduled to go off today at 2:00 PM in Session 3. But when I go to put in proxy bids, the screen indicates that the auction is closed! The items show as "unsold".

What gives? Anybody else have this problem?

Update: Now the 2pm auction is "running", so you can put the bids in.

Ok, yesterday I had about fifteen bids in lots 1-830 session one. My max bids on the first 13 were early in the sale as I couldn't watch the auction live. Last night I looked at what they hammered at on icollector because it didn't show it on the Goldberg site of course. Based on the icollector site my max bids should of won me 9 coins. However, these wins still do not show up in "my win" section on the Goldberg site. Last night I was able to view the auction and saw tht I won lot 822 live and saw it take my bid. That token immediately went into "my win" section. The others nope. I just checked to see if those other nine coins I think I won went into "my wins" section. Not only did they not move over, the coin that I did win and was in that section earler is no longer there. 'My Win" column is empty. So annoying YET AGAIN.....The Goldberg's the nicest people, the WORST on line auctions. Never again. Not worth it. image

I didn't use icollector exactly for that reason. However, there site does work! Probably should have should their site and paid the extra 5% and avioded this aggrevation. At this point if I get an invoice fine, if not so be it. MJ
