New TTM record: 485 Days - thanks Mr. Billy Ripken

I thought for sure this card would never come back - I thought I read some where Billy would not sign it. Maybe it's the full F@#K Face he will not sign.

  • Glad I read this. I was going to send him a FF to sign but was waiting to find someone that had a recent success.

I'm not 100% sure on that maybe our resident Billy Ripken FF Collector - could fill us in!

Jasen ... does the "485" in the title mean DAYS until received back???
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I sent Billy Ripken a FF and had it signed and returned within a month.
  • My longest wait is 563 days
  • Unsure if he signs the FF TTM. I've heard he used to decline signing them all together but I own and seen a few. So.... There was a story about him getting some signed for his wedding to help fund it and another version was it was to give away for people in the wedding. I think Bill here knows and told me what he knew. But I forgot. image Need...to...take...better...notes.

I sent him a Scribble and Black Box to sign and it's been a few months with no success.

Never sent him a FF to sign or anything else other than the 2 mentioned above.

    485 days...wow.

I read a interview with Jim Nettles and he wont sign his '90 Pacific A Hole card. He will sign over the knob. I guess sometimes he forgets or it's a newer policy as I've seen 2 unobstructed. One was on ebay and ended around $5 and I forgot to bid. Another image

  • Reading the length of time it has taken some to send back your autographed item. I have a question and I don't mean to be morbid. Have you ever sent something for someone to sign and the guy has died on you? Now that's the longest wait you'll ever have for a returned autograph. Doug

My FF card was signed and returned just before the end of the baseball season. I sent it to MLB TV Studios

I'm not sure I could bring myself to send a FF via ttm...

I would imagine lots of people never heard back from Mark Fidrych - he was a great signer via TTM.

I just write a nice short typed letter and place the card and letter into an envelope with a stamped returned envelope. Most of the time I just send the card without a top loader or cardsaver... 95% of the time the card comes back in the same condition as when it was sent out.

Same here. Bill, or someone, added a piece of cardboard in my envelope for the return trip. Bills a safe shipper !

Not so much TTM, but I did have the opportunity to meet up with Billy a couple days before Christmas to sign a few Game Used pieces (plus around 7-8 flats)....I thought it was cool that in his office he had a stack of 1988 Topps rookies that he must give to people who don't have anything for him to sign....
