plug: Monterey Bay Spanish History Tour (includes coins)

This is a hopelessly shameless plug for the Monterey-Carmel Spanish History Tour (for those of you who plan to visit the Central Coast of California) starting February 6. The tour focuses exclusively on Monterey Bay's Spanish Era sites of 1602-1822-- amazingly, most visitors miss the Spanish Era sites completely (Carmel Mission being the exception) because they are off the beaten path. It's an approximately 3-hour mini-van tour, encompassing sites in Monterey and Carmel. Cost is $28 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under. Of interest to collectors would be the Downie Museum at the Carmel Mission, where on display are some 30 Spanish, Spanish-Colonial, and Mexican silver coins, all found at the mission. There are also some unidentified Spanish religious medals on display in the same museum. And of course the guide (that would be myself) would have knowledge of other coins that have been found on the Peninsula. Our website is: www.montereycarmelspanishhistorytour.com

Thanks for indulging!
