Think the winner will be ticked?

No mention of the (OC) qualifier as the seller leads the buyer to believe it is a straight PSA 8 and the scan is a bit small.

Lenny Dawson Fleer RC - PSA 8 (OC)

If the buyer didnt look at the scan and see for himself that it is OC then its his own fault, Im not defending the seller by any stretch but I cant see how anyone wouldnt notice it regardless of the small scan.

The buyer could always SNAD the item when he receives it.

It is my belief that the seller is trying to be tricky and/or deceptive on this auction.

Maybe they will notice and retract their bid. I love the small scan provided.

to be fair all his singles have the same garbage pics, but i think we all feel the same about sellers who do not mention qualifiers in their description (at a minimum)....
  • Seller should have better pics...

But if somebody looked at that scan and couldn't see the big OC, well then, they might just have to get some thicker glasses.

I wonder if any seller would ever fail to mention the qualifier if there were good qualifiers (like "PC" for Perfectly Centered).

I can maybe understand not stating OC in the title (that is misleading enough) but to not mention it in the listing and to reiterate that the card is "graded 8" and equate it to Beckett value for a straight 8 is fraudulent. The buyer should easily prevail (and rightfully so) if a SNAD claim is filed. Another deceptive seller looking to scam..

One of the oldest Ebay seller tricks in the book. Pretty unethical, but certainly defendable. There is a pic afterall.

Pretty unethical? That's like saying selling resealed packs is not too bad since they're still packs and contain cards..

My guess is that no one will be upset. That's not a bad price for an 8OC

Edited to add - because that card is ridiculously tough.

    I agree. Although I must add, that's not a bad looking 8OC.

Small scan? 2nd pic is plenty big...

Price seems fair for an OC card.

If it goes in their favor they won't list it, itf it is in their favor they will list it. My guess is that it is just human nature.

Along these same line, but a different auction, what do you think of this one? (70) Graded Ripken Lot

Nowhere in the title or description do they mention any qualifiers, but if you look at the very tiny/blurry pics, all of the PSA 9s and some of the 8s have qualifiers. I wrote a friendly email to the seller saying they might want to add the qualifier info to the description because if someone buys it and didn't notice the qualifiers, they might file a SNAD. They sell simply replied "ok". It doesn't really make sense to me, because they took the time to type out each card with it's cert number, but omitted the qualifier.

They also have a similar McGwire and Mattingly lot too.

Am I out of line for thinking this is a bad practice, and they're trying to pull a fast one? They even added "ALL SALES ARE FINAL NO RETURNS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES". I'll be watching this one from a distance...

Not a bad price? Is the auction even over yet?

    Good for you.

So it's acceptable to list an OC card with no mention of the qualifier either in the title OR the listing? To me, that's just sleazy and dishonest and I'm surprised frankly, that some are implying that there is nothing really significantly wrong with this auction. And like Steve said, the auction is not even close to being over yet as far as final price is concerned...
