has anyone submitted cards from the bottom of the boxes from the 80s? if so did you sub the whole 4 card panel or cut the cards individually? if anyone has done some could you scan a couple to see what they look like? thanks!

I've seen them slabbed as singles. Not sure... but the flip might have read hand cut box bottom.

Don't bother, they're impossible. Usually end up being 5s and 6s.

Absolutely not true... Obviously, the panels have to be clean to begin with. Then it's a matter of a good eye...

I know you said 80s, but I have a personally subbed '90 Fleer Griffey box panel in an 8

This is what a box card looks like graded. PSA just notates it was hand cut.


As otwcards wrote, getting high grades on these isn't impossible but it's very difficult. (The reason this Lemieux is a 5 is because of a "factory" crease on the reverse.) I sent some nice OPC Gretzky box cards in as part of the group sub and am hoping for 8s and and 9s.
