My wife said we can spend our 10 year anniversary at the NATIONAL SHOW!!!

My wife and I will be celebrating are 10 year wedding anniversary this year on Aug 26th. I told her wouldn't it be cool to back to where we spent our honeymoon, in Baltimore. Little did she know the National was is Baltimore this year. So I waited a day and told her what a coincidence I just saw it on the internet. The best part is, she said I could go to show and she didn't want to go with me and that she would find something fun for herself for a day and half. She's into scrapbooking and stamping. I found her a local scrapbook shop. So it should be a good time.

This will be my first national I'm going to after collecting cards off and on for 24 years. I started in 86, stopped in 95 and have been a die hard since 2000. Now all I have to do is start saving my pennies. image

  • Our anniversary is this weekend. However, I somehow convinced my wife's family to organize a family reunion the week of the National. Her family lives in Baltimore. image

My wife loves to scrapbook as well. That hobby is worth its weight in gold. She does her thing one weekend while i watch the kids and I go to shows the nes.

  • Jeremy, Asked my wife if she wanted to go to Atlantic City this March instead of Vegas for a week and I would drive to Philly for a day to go to the card show. I guess it's not in Philly this year. I guess I'm going to Vegas with her instead.

In case anyone is interested, Orioles single game tickets are already on sale and there are home games every day of the National. I just got off the phone with Ticketmaster and was able to score some really nice seats for Sunday. (I couldn't ask for 1st row buying them online)

I'm taking my wife with me to Baltimore, but not to the show. My Dad and everyone on his side of the family live in Maryland, so I'm making it a big vacation for us. i'm even taking a cousin or two to the show with me! My wife attended Towson University for her first two years of college, so she has many friends over there that she gets to visit. We won't need a hotel since my Dad lives 1/2 hour north of the city (and about 10 minutes away from Ripken's house). image

OK just kiddin! (unless they're hot!)

Since you'll be in Baltimore for a baseball weekend, be sure to check out Babe Ruth's Birthplace/Museum:

I haven't been to that museum since Camden Yards was merely a hole in the ground with construction equipment laying around it. Back then it was even an unforgettable place to visit. The Babe Ruth Museum is combined with the Orioles Museum, and they're both awesome and worth a visit.
