1981 Donruss Pete Rose No Black Ink On Back

Bought a very small collection of cards (little over 300) as a Christmas gift to me that arrived a little later then expected and was just looking at them again and noticed a little something when turning over this card.

No black ink.

Is it rare? I don't know but it sure is a cool item for my factory miscut/defect collection.

Hopefully someday I'll get a FF misprint like that. Almost had a blank back '89 Fleer Ripken but that former board member failed to deliver.
Congrats!!

But can I just say that when you really get in nice and close, Pete Rose is one hell of a handsome man
it is fun to look at all his stuff.

I would HIGHLY doubt it was issued in a pack of cards, but still interesting for the freak collector.
<< <i>bad registration and goofy cut on left side..., looks like a scrap sheet cut to me.

That's what I'm leaning towards but I do have cards with that type of cut that are from packs.
81 Donruss is so bad when it comes to the cutting that it would not surprise me if it was pulled from a pack.

1981 Donruss often come out of packs looking like they were sheet cut by a 2 year old.
This is a great find! Though not a cataloged error, it's a great printing error, especially due to it being a consistent defect (i.e.: no black ink as opposed to missing a little diagonal stipe of black ink, etc.). As for it's worth, I'd bet it'd fetch a minimum of $30 but with a Rose fan bidding war, who knows. Very cool card.
