Turkish Ottoman under Mahmud II, this is from the third coinage series. Regnal year 3 ~ 1810 AD. Which denomination it is depends on the size 1 piastre = 28mm, 2.5p = 35mm, 5p = 42mm.

This is one of the better series. Could be worth a pretty penny if indeed as struck (though the 5p is more available).

Edit - just took a better look... it's the 1 piastre, the flower next to the toughra is particular to that denom. So you've got KM 562, a one year type. Values per the 2006 Krause: $175/VG, 300/F, 500/VF, 850/XF and unlisted in UNC -- I might add though that those values are unchanged from my 1993 Krause so I don't know how realistic they are.

That's about $30? Sounds like a very good buy.

It sounds more like less than a buck (less than 1/4 quid).
