Would love to see an MS-66 grade for an 1804 coin. Wow.
  • Well if you don't have pictures it's probably pretty homely.

I'll give you thirty five bucks for it image

1804 the Spanish dollars were overstruck by the Bank of England with a portrait of the King on the obverse and Britannia on the reverse, with an inscription BANK OF ENGLAND 1804 FIVE SHILLINGS DOLLAR. It is not uncommon to be able to identify the original coin that had been overstruck.

There are five obverses and three reverses for the dollar as follows:

    Obverses:

Top leaf of head points to left side of E; C.H.K. on truncation; stop after REX
Top leaf of head points to left side of E; CHK (no stops) on truncation; stop after REX
Top leaf of head points to centre of E; C.H.K. on truncation; stop after REX
Top leaf of head points to centre of E; C.H.K. on truncation; no stop after REX
Top leaf of head points to right side of E; C.H.K. on truncation; stop after REX

    Reverses:
    K below shield in relief
K below shield inverted and in relief
K below shield inverted and incuse
Combinations 11,13,21,31,32,33,41,51,52, and 53 are known.
I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

  • Beautiful! Congratulations.

What does "five shillings dollar" mean, since both shilling and dollar are each denominations?

    OK I've had it!
After glancing at it last year and being subjected to seeing it again now - is simply heartless! image
I demand you ship me the coin at once for safe-keeping.
  • How does an 1804 coin survive in that condition for over 200 years? Where must it have been stored? Simply a beautiful coin!image
