Talk about good record keeping!

I just received a letter from the Forever Young Foundation with a card I sent to get signed (94 Classic Rookie Flashback in Bucs uni)

Looks like he signed for me on May 7, 2001! LOL I was 15 then!

I don't remember writing him, but its good to see they keep a good database to prevent people from double dipping.

Edit - Player is Steve Young.

Cool story... too bad I have no clue as to what player you are referring to.
  • I guess a name would help image

    My guess is Steve Young...

...after looking it up, I'm staying with Steve Young

    Wow!!!

I have one similar - I wrote a player in 1967 while I was in Vietnam. I received a reply in 1975! Forward 6 times!

I'd like to see a scan.

Yes, Steve Young keeps records of anyone he has ever signed for. You get one "freebie" from him. I'll hopefully soon find myself a USFL RC to send since my freebie is still waiting image
  • If the letter has no value to you, I would not mind having it for my Young scrapbook.

I need to send them $20-30 sometime and see if they would send me some brochures, letterheads and the like laying around there.

    Clear Skies,

  • It's yours Mark.

    PM sent
  • Thanks Mark.

I just started the scrapbook a couple weeks ago to put all the unusual large sized items I have acquired, like ADs, promo sheets and the like. I would share some scans but this board doesn't really seem to care about 90s football or SY collectiles.

Need to pick up one of his Got Milk ads sometime...they eBay them fairly cheap (...and I have no ideal which publications it appeared in.)

  • It took over 2 years for my TTM request to Phil Mickelson but one day I got a sweet signed 8X10 from Phil. I was hoping for one from his HOTTT wife but oh well..

Do you have any of the Banyan (the BYU Annual Yeabook)? Steve is featured in the 1981-1984 issues. You can even find me in there once or twice... image
  • I have the 1982. If your in that one, Steve is like 10 times?, and would like me to scan and share your photo let me know. I am also interested in ticket stubs from the era but only games Steve played in.....which I only have a patial list right now. Young was never red shirted (I imagine you know this Scott) so he didn't start as much as a normal college QB would, figure about a year and a half overall, but did play clean up quite a bit. If you have any extra stubs or stubs you are not interested in let me know Scott (or anyone else). I have about 30-40 stubs to Young games right now...mostly 49ers (of course).

I have 2-3 of the quarterly, or almost quarterly BYU Sports magazine. (Usally these magazines have a release rate that goes along with the sport season....meaning more during the season and less during the offseasons...not sure on BYU's). One has Steve Young on the cover, another a poster inside. Might have another as well. That and the yearbook are my only BYU collectibles....I think.
