Scarce mint, very scarce grade, looks to me to be a mule with the 1846 eagle reverse.

I know how that feels, but on the bright side, you still have three days to reconsider your bid.

Maybe bidding at the current level will discourage those who didn't set a watch, and maybe there won't be many planning on a snipe of their own. Who knows? Maybe you can still get it for something like $1,111,11.

I was watching that one too, but the timing is bad. After all of the recent auction wins, it is simply not in the cards for me.
In addition to Roman's observations, it's a wonderful looking coin.

AU-58s seem to bring about $1000.00. This should bring $1300-$1500 I would guess. Maybe a bit more.

dizzlecc, it looks like you might get a second shot, but I think I would contact the seller to inquire as to why it was relisted.

I took a moment to ask the seller that very question, and here's his/her reply:

Tom,
The high bidder informed us that he lost his job within
a day of the auction end, and could not pay for the item.
