Mike, Do you know if you can build a set on a box of 89-90 Fleer Basketball? Also, I am confused about the price, on the top line you say the boxes are $40 and on the bottom you say the boxes are $50. What is the price?

The only problem with the Be a Player cards is that all of the Gretzky's have been pretty much accounted for, and all other auto'd cards sell for about $1-2 each with the exception of a very very very few others which probably wouldn't break 50-75$ and that's if you're lucky.

yes on the set, you should get 2 complete sets out of 1 box in previous years it was 3 sets out of a box but in 1989 they increased the size of the set from 132 cards + 11 stickers to 168 regular cards + 11 stickers. the price on the top was for a 3 box lot ( 1 of each hcky, bskt & bb). I just was showing the breakdown on the 3 box lot. shipping on the boxes will be priorty mail because of the weight. Hope this helps

Patrick, how where they accounted for? I know that Upper deck supposedly had Gretzky sign 300. and that upper deck stated a print run of 1,994 cases. Could you give me a list of the 300 people who own the signed gretzky's?

and as with any box of cards the value of the box is higher unopened then opened unless you hit one the big boys.

the possible autographed cards out of a box are Wayne Gretzky, Ray Borgue ,Steve Yzerman, Jeremy Roenick, Victor Kozlov, Doug Gilmore, Martin Brodeur, Mark Recchi, Teemu Selanne, John Vanbiesbrouck, Brian Leetch, Owen Nolan, Pat Lafontaine, Brendan Shanahan, Curtis Joseph, Jason Arnott, Luc Robitaille, Theo Fleury,Alexei Yashin, Paul Kariya Todd Harvey, Trevor Kidd, Claude Lemieux.

There are also the inserts of "up close and personal" and the "Wayne Gretzky All-stars"

So to say gretzky is the only autograph worth any thing is wrong to say it is the most valuable is correct. I also believe that Ray Borgue ,Steve Yzerman, Jeremy Roenick, Victor Kozlov, Doug Gilmore, Martin Brodeur, Mark Recchi, Teemu Selanne, John Vanbiesbrouck, Brian Leetch, Owen Nolan, Pat Lafontaine, Brendan Shanahan, Curtis Joseph, Jason Arnott, Luc Robitaille sell for more than a dollar or two.

I believe a complete set of the BAP autographs still lists in Becketts for around 3,000.00

Of course I don't have a list of 300 people who own that card. What kind of a question is that.

TuffStuff (I believe, could have been Beckett) ran an article on this when the 3rd or 4th series came out. Out of 23,928 boxes of this product, accounting for 300 of one card is pretty easy.

Sorry, there are a ton of auto's on ebay right now...type "BAP 1994" in eBay search and you will see all the ones under $5...and HOF Brodeur, poor guy, has been beggin' somebody to take him home at $38

oh..the Gretzky inserts and the up close and personal cards are worth pennies, if you can find someone to give you that for them.

Point is, you pretty much have to pull the Gretzky in order to break the $180 price tag you have...I remember when I was a kid these were $8/pack, plenty of Gretzky signed cards still out there, and all the autos were bringing in good money, the BAP product is dead...at least the 1994 series is.

I think most hockey could be considered dead, or I could say wow 14,400 for a box of 79 OPC hockey when there is only 1.7 gretzkys per box is bad since after Gretzky the rest of the cards are 1.00 to maybe 20.00 and for 300 a pack your paying to much because if you don't hit the gretzky well you know the rest of the story. It sort of makes 11.25 a pack for 94-95 Bap hockey seem sort of cheap.

I also remember 94-95 Bap hockey was 15 a pack and 225.00 a box at one time, and the cases reached a high of 3,000 a case and boxes hit high of 275 each.

The last BAP box that ran on ebay sold for 199.99 ( about 6 months back).

right now there is No boxes or even packs of 94-95 BAP on ebay also there are no boxes 79 OPC hockey on Ebay there are packs though. There are No 94 -95 BAP autographed Wayne Gretzky or Steve Yzerman on Ebay (didn't check the rest).

The point is I consider unopened 79 OPC hockey a rare item and I also consider unopened 94 95 BAP hockey a rare item.
There are numerous items that you rarely see come up for sale or for auction. It doen't make them worthless.

Also I remember on my original thread on Oct 5, you were in for 1 box of BAP yourself. Then on Oct 09 you said your money was now tied up. (no big deal).

The 94-95 BAP hockey was the first product ever that offered an autograph in every pack and people went crazy opening it. So my guess is there isn't a whole lot of unopened boxes/cases out there. JMHO
