Vending Box Questions

As a kid I collected heavily from 1973-1980. I have been working on the 1971-1976 sets for years. Even though the 1977-1980 sets hold a lot of nostalgia for me, I resisted collecting them because my condition perfectionism combined with the relatively low value of the sets made it seem like a bad idea.

However, I'm beginning to care less about value, and I'm considering trying to get started on some of these sets. Vending boxes from these years are
not out of reach. My question is, if I buy a vending box from a reputable source like BBCE, is shipping damage ever a problem? I'd certainly hate to
pop for a 1977 vending box only to find that all 500 cards had an identical corner ding or something.

Opinions appreciated.

    If you got a box that had dinged corners it would not from shipping. BBCE packs all items with foam. They're the best for unopened stuff. I put a post up a couple days ago about vending boxes. You might find it a few pages back, I got some great info.

    Jeremy is right, BBCE does a great job with shipping. You have to realize that if you buy from BBCE and the corners are dinged, it's just part of the game and out of their control...like buying a wax pack and not pulling a star, BBCE can assure you the pack have never been opened, but as far as what's inside...who knows...

    I've bought vending from BBCEx on more than one occasion - they pack them very well in bubble wrap to insure no damage.

    If you've never purchased vending - keep in mind, due to the packing method - one can find all kinds of dinged cards, miscuts, OCs in a box of 500. Plus, one can get a big run of OC's depending on the run in the case. I once picked up 4 boxes of 83T and the first 2 were almost 100% OC - I think it's the run?

    Last - it would take quite a few boxes to finish a set due to dupes.

    The method BBCE uses to ship cards, they could ship a dozen eggs across the country and none would break. I just picked up a '79 and '80 vending box during the latest group rip, and they were cherry.
