69 thru 78 OPC Hockey poppage train wreck!!

Wow, what a horrible sub. I commented in another thread, but here are the gory details. Bottom line is that I’ve subbed hundreds of cards and usually am about 80% correct. I think I’m below 50% on this one. Grades popped late last Friday (or thereabouts). I think someone just wanted to get home.
Of 7 cards that were cracked out of PSA slabs, only one came back as the previous grade, 5 were 1 grade lower, 1 was 2 grades higher. And none were from the early round edged flips that always seem to be graded more leniently. And there was absolutely no damage done to the cards when I cracked them out.
One rare variation card (1972 OPC checklist – WHA players listed) was mislabeled as the more common version (‘LIST AS MORE WHA’).
What a mess!
I know grading is subjective but if PSA can only be consistent 15% of the time (1/7 resubs) one has to wonder. Seems the old saying is true……a card will eventually get into the holder you want .
If I didn’t know better I’d almost think that PSA liked my cards so much that they wanted to see them again!
Every other submission I’ve had was reasonable so I'm not sure what happened with this one. I don't think my eyes (or loupe) got that bad! Time to get out the dremel. Bigger pain will be getting the mislabeled checklist corrected.

Why would you crack and submit a card that you thought was going to get the same grade as it had before you cracked it???
I feel your pain, had my heart broken many times. I alos pulled a blazer 82-83 opc Gretzky from a pack sent it in, comes back ungradeable... WHAT! It didn't have the opc ruff cut, they told me they don't grade sheet cut cards. Sent it to beckett comes back BGS 9.5.

Good question and one I was going to explain in the original thread. My original pan was to put together a high grade NM/NM-MT/MINT raw 1969 OPC set. Some cards were a better deal graded than trying to find real NM/MT raw cards. The advertised NM/MT cards were usually NM at best, and usually EX-MT. So I got the graded card and cracked it out.
