Is Something Fishy With This Auction’s Bidding?

I have been watching this auction and something is not right. The card is for an autographed card of HERB THOMAS. It looks like one id is fighting it out with whoever is winning to drive up the cost. The eBay link is HERB THOMAS HAND SIGNED AUTOGRAPH 1991 K &M CARD. I have been waiting with a snipe but I am trying to figure out why these folks are going at it.

I wanted to get some other options since I know there is a lot of knowledge on these boards. Also if there are some tools or other software to figure this out since eBay went to the new feedback system.

Who is he? Herbert Watson Thomas (April 6, 1923–August 9, 2000) was a NASCAR pioneer who was one of the series' most successful drivers in the 1950s. It was in the first NASCAR race. Herb Thomas also won the NASCAR championship in 1951 and 1953.

I guess it was the Bid activity (%) with this seller stats for two of the bidders that I thought was fishy.

Top two bidders have 6% bid history with this seller and 28% bid history....but that is during the past 30 days and the 28% is only based on 7 total bids. Doesn't stand out as obvious shill bidders, IMO.

Some people like to bid old-school style, and regard sniping as "cheating". Whatever. At the end of the day, it comes down to how much you bid, not how much you're "willing" to bid.

I agree with everyone above, it probably isn't shill bidding most likely they just really want the card image

Usually what makes me expect shilling is retracted bids -- when the seller gets to greedy and wants to extract maximum value, you'll see lots of retracted bids. I have a seller saved at home that I'll post later -- he is a really obvious shiller.
