Breaking Box of 1986 Topps Football Now...

Won a box on ebay for about $237... I know big risk but my 80/81 topps basketball box from ebay went so well decided to take another shot... will post some scans when I am done. Other than the big guys of Rice and Young... Another others sell really well in PSA 9 or 10 that would not be obvious?

You want 10s for Montana, Marino, Elway, Payton, Smith RC, Kosar RC, A. Reed, Reggie White and maybe Esiason.
9s on the above and you'll be lucky to just break even.
    Good luck!

  • I was able to sell a "oilers" team card for like $20 in a PSA 9... You would want to look for some low pops...

this was brutal... I almost wish it was resealed lol and I got nothin... Well 34 packs in and yep 0 Rice and 0 Youngs and I think I got jobbed... Well in pack 35 I go straight to the 100 yd club card cause the card stuck to that one is jacked everytime, and who is it? Yup Jerry Rice, I pull it apart carefully and you will see ... Pack 36, the bottom card is a Steve Young but its got bad centering and a dinged corner. Oh well, fun break I have a 1984 Topps FB box I paid $340 from a seller I def trust to have great clean wax and that should be here tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that man. But at $237, at least you didn't get hosed on price and get nothing. $6.50 a pack for that year is pretty good and probably a pretty good thrill with the anticipation. Did you get any of the other star cards or gem mint looking commons/semistars? A 10 on any of the other big names could justify the cost of the box.
  • You got a great price on that box, and you still pulled a Rice and Young.

Ouch man. That really sucks. I've heard of putting stuck-together-cards in the freezer although I doubt it would have helped in this case.
