PSA/DNA Questions

Why do some signed cards have a red label and some have a blue label?

If you have an autograph authenticated and have the card graded too does it always come with a red label?

If I want a signed card authenticated and graded but it turns out the card is trimmed or altered in some way what happens? Does the card come back in a holder like I never asked for it to be graded or does it not get put in a holder? If they do put it in a holder what color label would they use?

cards sent to PSADNA are blue label. They only authenticate the auto, they say nothing about the card. Cards sent to PSA are red label, which means the card at least is real and unaltered.

I recently bought a collection of signed ungraded cards and some of them have red labels so...
  • If the card quality is questionable PSA (Red Flip) will grade the card "authentic only" if you request. You may get a qualifier with the authentic for being "altered" if their is trimming/coloring/etc. For a card which has any questions, this is the best way to go or they may not grade the card if the auto is good if you ask for a numerical grade.

So what I said stands, they checked out the card, they just didn't put a grade on it. Just because its red doesnt mean the card was numerically graded.
