Trevose, PA coin show report - 1/17

OK, so Trevose is not FUN, but...

A very busy day at Trevose. This is a monthly show with about 40 tables. Third Sunday each month, and I have a regular table. Probably the most active show there in the last year or so. A constant stream of collectors, a few dealers walking the floor, and a nice buzz in the room. I never really got out from behind my table to do any buying. Sold a lot of Bust and Barber (especially halves), and a good bit of Seated as well. Some copper and even a bit of gold (a nice 1911-D $5 in AU 55 included). Activity across the spectrum - raw and slabbed, cheap and not so cheap. All of the dealers seemed pleased with the day.

I am hoping that this show bodes well for the rest of 2010.

That is good to hear. I live 10 minutes away from the Trevose Firehouse and never seem to make the show.

I will be there next month.

Thanks for the report. Always good to hear what's going on at the smaller, regional shows.

Is this the same show as the Fort Washington or is the Trevose a different show image

Trevose is a different show than Ft. Washngton, though there is a significant overlap of dealers. I used to go to it regularly, but stopped a few years ago after seeing the same dreck™ month after month.

Have been wondering the same thing. Show is relatively close to me and I have been thinking about going. Any regulars here?

Trevose is the first show I ever went to! I grew up about 20 minutes from there. I remember it being a nice little show but I haven't been in about 4 or 5 years.

I go occasionally. It is pretty good for a local show.

I believe 10-3. I went there a few years ago and parking was horrible.
I do go to the one in Horsham, parking is much better and I believe most of the dealers are the same for both shows.

My club newsletter gives the hours as 10am-4pm. I would imagine most dealers start breaking down by 2pm. I agree that the parking situation is awful. I usually go inside while my wife finds a parking spot.

I am originally from PA, and try to make it to the trevose show any time I am visiting family and the show is going on. Definitely gets my recommendation. The Fort Washington show is usually pretty good as well.

FTB. I grew up in Philly and attend the show monthly with my dad growing up. We got to the show around 9am and left around 12ish if that helps. Parking was a pain as stated. Will have to stop in next time I am in the city when the show is going on.
