What is up with this card, it never shows up on ebay. There is a raw copy now on ebay but the seller is suspect imo and I notice this card gets trimmed at the bottom often so I am trying to get one already graded. Anyhow, why does this card never show up for sale, in private collections ?

true, it doesnt come up for sale very often at all!

i wouldnt worry about that card being trimmed, just his real rookie auto alone is well worth it!

I was thinking the same thing (about the card being hoarded in Japan).
Ichiro has another rookie auto in I think Ultimate.

I'm not sure people are "hoarding" them with the price point they are at. One would think they are going into Japanese private collections and staying there. His top autos in 2001 are the Ultimate AU at $1500+(on-card/250) and his SPx(cut/SP) at about half that. He's the most successful Japanese import and IMO already has the resume to be considered for the MLB HOF. I'd like one for my personal collection but I'm afraid I've been priced out. I'll have to settle for something else.

Edited to add: By my "hobby" definition,hoarding is is many of us did with late eighties and early nineties prospect singles. Anyone for a 100 count lot of 89UD Jerome Walton RC's?
