Grade in on Swiss Medal

I picked this one up a year or so ago and finally got around to sending it in, it had some verdigris along the edge so I sent it to NCS for conservation then on for grading.

Did you need NCS to remove it or could you have done it yourself with acetone and the likes?

Well ... I probably could have done it myself. But I figure why risk messing up a perfectly good medal, NCS was inexpensive (less than $20) and they seem to know what they are doing.

I've been thinking about having NGC try to remove a finger print milky area on a proof coin.

Guess it can't hurt to try since it's not going anywhere grading wise unless I can get it off.

$20 sounds very reasonable to me considering the effect of the verdegris on the appearance and
and value of the medal...

The minimum is now up to $20, 1% of value for evaluation (min. $5), and 4% of value for conservation (min. $15). But still it seems cheap enough to try it out.
