could it be that the card itself is slanted towards the upper left??? I've had cards that float around the slab a bit and they sometimes look askew overall but it's just that the card isn't straight in the slab.

I realize everyone makes mistakes and i believe in the adage buy the card not the holder but that card is just too ugly to be in a PSA 10 holder.
And for what it's worth, i've been a member here since 2001. Just decided to change my user name when i turned the big 4 0 . Im getting too old to be called KOBE lol

Bill I don't on that Dr. J. I personally feel if the are going to hammer the low pop cards, they need to make sure they don't hand out PSA 9's on important HOF rcs like that. I don't think anyone would disagree that the eye appeal of a card like that should not be higher than an 8.

The print dot alone, on that card, destroys the eye appeal for me. It draws my attention for the second I look at it.

Quitting the hobby? You just joined CU this month! You have to stay on at least long enough so you can meet Kurt Adler and the Asian dude.

It's been nice having you here...

Seriously, that is one of the ugliest 10s I've ever seen!
Edited:
It just goes to prove the old adage "Buy the card, not the holder".

not good.

Steve,
That is the same thing I think to myself every time I see a post like this.
Grading is done by people. People will make mistakes.
As a card buyer you need to decide if you agree with the grade provided.

IMO - a tilt should automatically disqualify a card from a 10.

No. A lot of holders look like that, and it's really of no concern.
Steve
It is not the "normal" diamond cut. It appears that the card itself is square (ok...rectangular
The design though, is tilted on the card.
Steve
Steve
yeah I see the tilt.
I would not quit my hobby over it.
lol
Steve
A recent epidemic, IMO.
I never used to see 9s and 10s this bad.
I want 10s to be perfect and 9s to be nearly perfect.
Tilted cards are neither.

I agree with this, but also go with many of the above posters that you buy the card and not the plastic...
It's a bit over the top to suggest quitting the hobby because of the grade of a modern common card...

<< <i>Is that Bill Cosby's brother? >>
looks an awful lot like him!
that card is not worth the grading fees anyway...
all that sellers PSA cards are worth less than the probable grading fees.....

I always thought the " quitting the hobby " line was a running joke on this board . . It looks like most took me serious
