Advice on selling a 1985 Kitty Clover Tom Seaver PSA 10 UPDATED 1/21

I got the above card raw on Ebay and submited it during the last group sub. It is a pop 2 and I believe it is a pretty rare set. I was going to keep it for my White Sox collection but I am going to list it on Ebay. Any advice on a starting price? BIN with best offer?

Don't know if this will help or not, but I bought my Ripken PSA 10 for about $80 2 years ago.

Thanks that does hel!. There are only a few raw ones on Ebay (and no Seaver) and the prices are all over.

Yeah they seem to fluctuate in price quite a bit. Sometimes I think $80 for my 10 was a steal as I've seen the raw ones go for upwards of $60 on the Ripken. At the time I bought it, it was a pop 2, it's a pop 4 now.

If I were you I'd put a BIN on it that is on the high end of what you would want for it and go from there.

I don't really know anything about this set. Any chance one of you could give us a quick primer and maybe a few scans?

    Good luck with your sale...

I believe I read onthese boards that this is one of the more scarce disc issues from the 80's. Of course I try and find the thread using the search feature and I can't find anything. Here are some examples(Stolen from Ebay):

These discs were produced by MSA and inserted with Kitty Clover potato chips, which was based out of Omaha.

Here's a scan of my 10 and it's KAS counterpart:

Those cards were randomly inserted inside bags of cat litter.

Back in the day, my cat was real upset because he opened 3 bags and pulled two Gwynns and a Seaver

He was really hoping for an Ozzie
  • I've had a heck of a time finding gradable Ozzie's from the set. I finally got a 9. The set seems to be pretty rare and the prices are all over the place. I am VERY surprised that someone was able to get a PSA10 Ripken for only $80. Congrats!

I was pretty surprised I got it for that price... even though the pop is higher now, I think it would sell for quite a bit more than $80. I also had a 9 that I sold this past summer for $52.55. I've still got another raw one that I think would probably grade a 9, maybe a 10 on a good day, so it would probably come back an 8 if I sent it in image

But you are right, prices for these seem to be all over the place. I think it's all about finding the right buyer at the right time.

Thanks for the advice guys. I just sold mine via best offer for $100 ($97 +3 S/H). I am pleased as I am only into the item for under ten bucks.

Your cat would've had a premature-ejac if you would've pulled an Andres "The Big cat" Gallarraga.

On the other hand , I'm sorry he didn't get the Ozzie.

Nice discs but why can't PSA fix the whole Mylar sleeve thing? Can't they come up with some clear plastic
insert like SGC's black one ?

I agree. These discs look awful in the holder. I hate having to slide the slab around trying to get the disc to display just right!
